How does Creditfix work?
The process starts with an assessment of your finances; what you earn, what you spend, and what you owe. Creditfix advisers then look at which debt solutions you qualify for, with IVAs being their most common option.
If an IVA is suitable, Creditfix puts forward a proposal to your creditors. If the majority agree, you make one affordable monthly payment (usually over five or six years). At the end of the arrangement, any remaining unsecured debt can be written off.
They also provide other solutions like Debt Management Plans, Debt Relief Orders and bankruptcy support, though their primary focus is on insolvency-based arrangements.
Does Creditfix affect your credit score or rating?
Speaking to Creditfix for advice won’t appear on your credit file. But entering into a solution arranged by them will.
- IVAs: recorded on your credit report for six years and visible to lenders.
- DMPs: may show as reduced or partial payments if creditors report them.
- Bankruptcy: carries the heaviest impact on your credit rating.
In short, it’s not Creditfix itself that affects your credit score, but the formal arrangement that’s put in place.
What is Creditfix?
Creditfix is a private debt advice and insolvency firm. Unlike debt charities, they operate as a commercial provider, working with people who need structured solutions to deal with unmanageable debt.
Their reputation is closely tied to IVAs, but they also provide a wider range of debt options. As licensed insolvency practitioners, they are authorised to set up formal agreements directly with creditors.
Does Creditfix charge a fee?
Creditfix does not charge for an initial consultation or advice. If you enter into an IVA or another formal debt solution through them, fees will apply.
These costs are not paid upfront, they are built into your monthly payments and deducted before money is distributed to creditors. Creditfix will explain the breakdown before you commit to any arrangement.
