Are you struggling with debt?

There are always solutions, no matter what your situation.

Who are PayPlan?

PayPlan is a UK-based debt management company that provides free debt advice and arranges debt solutions such as Debt Management Plans (DMPs), Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), and Debt Relief Orders (DROs).

Unlike charities such as StepChange or National Debtline, PayPlan operates as a private company. Their services are funded through agreements with creditors rather than client fees.

How does PayPlan work?

When you contact PayPlan, you’ll usually start with an online assessment or a call with an adviser. They look at your income, outgoings, and debts, then recommend a suitable plan.

PayPlan provide support with:

  • Debt Management Plans (DMPs)
  • Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs)
  • Trust Deeds (for residents in Scotland)
  • Bankruptcy support

They also provide online tools and telephone support to guide you through the process.

Does PayPlan affect your credit score or rating?

Speaking to PayPlan or using their advice services will not affect your credit score. However, the debt solution you enter into will.

  • A DMP may be reflected if creditors mark reduced payments.
  • An IVA or Trust Deed will remain on your credit file for six years.
  • Bankruptcy has the most serious effect.

It’s the chosen debt solution, not PayPlan as a company, that impacts your credit rating.

What is PayPlan?

PayPlan is one of the UK’s largest providers of free debt advice and debt solutions. They aim to help people manage unmanageable debt by negotiating with creditors and setting up affordable repayment plans.

Their services are funded by the credit industry, which means they don’t charge clients directly for debt advice.

Does PayPlan charge a fee?

No, PayPlan does not charge clients a fee for their debt advice or for setting up most debt solutions. Their funding comes from creditors who contribute to the cost of running the service.

That said, some solutions (such as IVAs or bankruptcy) have formal costs attached, but these are built into the solution itself, not charged separately by PayPlan.
